Town councillor Linda Maher tackles A6 litter problem (again)

Town councillor Linda Maher and her family carry out a litter pick along Manchester Road

Town councillor Linda Maher and her family carried out a litter pick on Manchester Road, collecting three bags of rubbish just weeks after 15 were collected from the same stretch.

The rubbish was collected along Manchester Road from the White Horse going towards Wingates.

Linda, who is part of the Liberal Democrat town council team, said: “Sadly some people are still being lazy and polluting our environment. It was unbelievable how much we collected just a few weeks after doing this area.”

Tory-run Bolton Council refuses to install new bins in Westhoughton - and has even removed some, despite the town’s litter problem.
