Meet Rish Chohan, your candidate for Chequerbent

Rish Chohan is your Liberal Democrat candidate for the Chequerbent ward of Westhoughton Town Council in this year’s local elections.

He’s standing alongside Alison Jackson, Arthur Price and Gillian Wroe, who are our candidates for Bolton Council for the Westhoughton North ward.

Chequerbent ward residents will have 4 votes in this year’s election on Thursday 4 May.

Rish has lived in Westhoughton for 16 years with his wife Sarita and their two boys.

Rish believes that the relief road at Chequerbent needs to be opened sooner rather than later, to ease the traffic on Park Road

Rish owns a small cafe on Market Street. He says: “This has given me first-hand experience of the serious concerns that Howfeners are facing here in Westhoughton, as well as the challenges of the small businesses in the area too.

“For me it is a tragedy that the historical past of the town is being slowly eradicated of which Westhoughton was built upon.

“Being a Liberal Democrat candidate, I strongly believe that I can make a significant contribution to the community and uphold the strong and historic values of the town.”

If you are a Chequerbent ward resident, use all 3 of your Bolton Council votes for Alison Jackson, Arthur Price and Gillian Wroe, and use your Chequerbent ward vote for Rish Chohan.
