Review of Westhoughton’s defibrillator coverage

A review of Westhoughton’s defibrillator coverage is being carried out by town councillors.

Liberal Democrat run Westhoughton Town Council has launched an initiative to ensure there are no gaps in coverage for the life-saving devices.

Town councillor Neil Maher said: “We know that Westhoughton is fairly well covered with defibrillators but there may well be gaps that we are keen to fill. These devices have been used and have already saved lives in Westhoughton so we are keen to support them being available across the town.”

The town council also plans to make a map of the defibrillators available on its new website in the coming months, to make it easier for residents to know where their nearest device is.

Councillors are looking to fund new defibrillators to cover any gaps that are identified.
