Diversity in Westhoughton: Get involved in your community

Local councillors are holding a diversity drop-in session to encourage people to get involved in the Westhoughton community.

Councillors and volunteers work together to take pride in Westhoughton, such as carrying out litter picks and supporting local events.

Liberal Democrat councillors are also passionate about supporting local community groups and organisations through grants provided by Westhoughton Town Council.

And the Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.

If you’re interested in finding out more about how you can get involved, come speak to some of your local councillors on Saturday 19 August at Westhoughton Library from 10.30am until 1pm.

Liberal Democrats in Westhoughton are doing something that is important and different. We are engaging face to face with the community. Our diversity team, which includes Councillor Deirdre McGeown, Sarita Chohan and Ryan Hough, have organised this event for members of the public to come along and met with our experience and newly elected councillors.
